Effects of Offshore Drilling: Energy vs. Environment
Offshore drilling can kill animals in many different ways, from the chemicals unearthed whilst recovering oil from the ocean floor. Another way the animals are dying is from the seismic waves used to locate oil harms sea mammals and disorients whales. ExxonMobil was actually suspended because of the 100 or more whales found beached near their exploration areas.
